The Netherlands is extremely successful at an international level when it comes to flood protection. The country has a large number of specialists available in every conceivable area: from the design and construction of dikes, forecasting systems, and decision-supporting systems, through to crisis management, measurement systems and evacuation.

Flood Control 2015 is co-organising an international congress on Flood Risk Assessment and Flood Event Management from 20-22 November 2012.

FLOODrisk 2012 (successor to the FLOODrisk2008 congress) is subtitled ‘science, policy and practice: closing the gap’. It is our ambition to bring together science, policy and practice. So next to the scientific scope there is also a lot of attention for interactive knowledge exchange in the programme. The conference will be held in the World Trade Centre / Beurs Building in Rotterdam.
