FLOOD CONTROL EDUCATION

As well as generating innovations, Flood Control 2015 also aims to embed knowledge in higher education in the Netherlands. The first step in this direction was taken last year in the form of lectures and other activities. In September 2011, this will result in the introduction of Flood Control 2015 to the curriculum of Hogeschool Rotterdam. A course will be developed and tested for this purpose. A range of sub-products of the Flood Control 2015 programme will be included in the curriculum.

Ultimately, embedding Flood Control 2015 in higher education has two objectives:

1. to put the Netherlands on the map even more as a leader in water management and safety, and to maintain that position
2. to pass on available knowledge in the field of Flood Control to future generations so that they can apply it in their work and develop it further;
